The Foundation
The Aquatis Foundation, created in 2007 under private law and recognized as being in the public interest, is dedicated to promoting environmental education and sustainable development.
She achieves her goal in particular:
- By promoting the development of a aquarium-vivarium dedicated to freshwater ecosystems and their biodiversity
- By providing financial support for research and development programs in the following areas:
- Education
- Museology
- Aquariology
- Communication and new technologies
- Renewable energies
- Development cooperation
Within AQUATIS Aquarium-Vivarium Lausanne, the Foundation proposes and finances conservation and preservation initiatives for freshwater aquatic environments, temporary exhibition projects, lecture series and educational activities to raise public awareness of environmental issues.

THE SCIENTIFIC COMMISSION
Composed of scientists specializing in environmental sciences, conservation of natural environments and species, climate change, education and museology, the Fondation Aquatis Scientific Commission contributes its expertise in the following areas in particular:
- Focus on cultural programming, participation and organization of cultural events
- Scientific content of projects (permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions, films and lectures, educational activities)
- Orientation of the selection of projects financially supported by the Foundation
- Development of partnerships with nature conservation organizations and research institutes
- Publishing of educational and popular works
- Development of educational programs
